Super Bowl Party Checklist

Even if your team didn’t make it to the game, Super Bowl LVI is sure to be one of the most entertaining football games of the year. If you are hosting a party, you likely want to make sure that your event lives up to all of the hype as well. Use the below Super Bowl Party Checklist to help you get ready for the main event on February 13.

  • Amble Viewing Space and Sound: Of course, the whole purpose of the party is to watch a football game on TV. Having a quality TV and good sound system and being sure all guests will be able to see and hear the game, is essential. It’s also a good idea to ensure you have the channel for the game and test it prior to your guests arriving. Make sure all technology is working as intended before the party begins.
  • Plenty of Seating: The next important item on your Super Bowl Party Checklist and must haves, should be plenty of comfortable seating. Make sure you have enough seats in front of the TV for everyone who’s attending. Ask friends to bring over chairs if you don’t have enough, and feel free to pull some of your outdoor furniture out of storage to utilize them. You can also put out throw rugs or blankets and scatter some large pillows, so that even those seated on the floor can get comfortable.
  • Decorations: What kind of a party is one without decorations? Get in the football theme and set the mood for the party by hanging banners and streamers. Add some balloons. To really get in theme, scatter real or inflatable footballs around the main area guests will be in. Let team colors dictate your party color scheme, especially if your team is playing in the game.
  • Tasty and Creative Food: If you want to keep the decorations simple, you can get creative with the food you are offering at your party and let the food table be a highlight of your party. Serve a mix of items to satisfy everyone, and it’s a good idea to try to stick to finger foods that are easy to pick up and eat while people are walking around or grabbing a quick bite at a commercial. A key thing to note on your Super Bowl Party Checklist is that you have plenty of food so all guests can leave satisfied. As we mentioned, try to stick with the football theme with your food items and serve them in football bowls and serving trays when you can.
  • Beverages and Cooler: You don’t want your guests getting parched. Water is always a must for any party, and if you want, you can also supply other beverages, alcoholic and/or not. If you are asking your guests to bring their own drinks, be sure you have cooler space and ice available for them. It is also a great idea to set out bottle and wine openers in case any guests need them.
  • All the Fixings for Serving: Even though you should try to stick to finger foods, you need to ensure you have plates, napkins, cups, cutlery, and whatever else you may need. Choose sturdy items that will hold the food and be easy to handle, and try to stick to disposable. This will make it less likely that something ends up broken and is much easier to clean up at the end of the evening. Don’t forget to stick to theme when you buy the items. Team colors or football themed dinnerware can add a nice touch.
  • Offer Games and Entertainment: While the football game is the main event, it is not a bad idea to have other forms of games and entertainment for your guests to enjoy. If you have a game room, now is a great time to showcase it. A game, like football themed bingo, can be played during commercial breaks. If you have games, having some type of fun prize can also help make your party a hit. Keep in mind, if children will be at your party, you may need to offer things to keep them entertained, especially if they are less interested in the big game on the TV.

Hosting a party for the biggest Sunday night football game of the year is tradition and should be able to be enjoyed by all, including you, the host. Use the above Super Bowl Party Checklist to help you organize a party that your guests will remember.
